Magnolia Road

Ain’t that the truth?! And no time like the present to run up some quality hills on Magnolia Road – the steepest road around!

It might not look like much in the photo above, but this mini flat section was the only little breather that allowed me to pull out the camera for a quick snap. The road starts off “gently” on a 20% grade right off the bat and climbs over 2,000 feet continuously in the first 5 miles…

…before continuing to trend uphill for the next 7 miles until the town of Nederland (8700′).

3300 gain over 12 miles in 2 hours definitely warrants a beer! Even if it was barely 10am!
